With and thanks to the Sobac,
Marcel Mézy’s process benefits
thousands of farmers,
gardeners and collectivities today
Marcel Mézy’s fertilization process is marketed in Europe by its partner Sobac under the registered trademarks BACTERIOSOL® and BACTERIOLIT®. Adopted by thousands of farmers, it is now used to fertilize about 200,000 hectares of French agricultural land. It has already convinced numerous German, Polish and Hungarian farmers.
Since 1998, the SOBAC has been quoted by the ADEME (the Agency for the Environment and Energy Management) in its guide "Product design and environment, 90 examples of eco-design" where it appears as the only product for agriculture and plants.
ECONOMY
Sobac works to ensure that economy serves mankind and in particular the agricultural and rural community. It helps farmers to optimize their products, to improve their net interest margin per hectare. In a difficult economic environment, Sobac in partnership with its users offers real solutions with innovative principles that have been working for more than twenty years.
ENVIRONMENT
Economic development is meaningful and has future only if it respects our planet. Sobac shows that a productivist thinking can go with the respect of environment: water preservation, biodiversity of species, improvement of the natural environment and the "soil heritage".
SOCIAL
The impact of the improvement in the quality of food products and in more natural growing methods on society is now well established. As a partner of sustainable development for the benefit of farmers, Sobac encourages business inheritance, takeover and creation for young farmers.
Since 1992, the Sobac has gone to meet farmers all over France with a new vision of the fertilization methods, really ahead of those practiced then and of those still mostly used today. 1992 was the year of the Twelve’s Agreement on the Common Agricultural Policy and the opening of the Rio de Janeiro Earth summit that was the starting point of a worldwide awareness of environmental problems. Already twenty years since Sobac, at its level, has been joining forces to offer farmers an alternative to the problems linked to the impoverishment of their soils and above all a new method of farming that respects environment.
Patience, pedagogy, support and above all results, have borne fruit. Today, thousands of French farms use Marcel Mézy’s process. Among them are the best ones in their field: cattle farming, sheep farming (dairy and meat), field crops, wine growing, arboriculture, market gardening… All forms of productions show the same level of success. Benefits registered are at the same time agronomical, economical and environmental.
Across the years, the acknowledgement of the Sobac’s work has become stronger under the aegis, for example, of the “Experimental Farm” of Paris-Grignon from AgroParisTech, of the University of Amiens (in cooperation) and of the ADEME. The Sobac was honoured nationally when it was granted the “Eco-Trophies” for its product for garden in 2009. It is now broadening its scope to cereal growers after targeting essentially polyculture-breeding. Its partnership with the firm Bonduelle testifies the legitimacy and the quality of Marcel Mézy’s Process in the long term, on specific crops dedicated to consumers.
